Brownfields are properties such as abandoned factories, gas stations, dry cleaning facilities, landfills and other sites that, due to various health and safety concerns, cannot easily be rehabilitated or returned to commerce. A major cause of blight and a drain on local tax revenues, brownfields are a persistent problem in many Louisiana municipalities.
Through our partnership with LDEQ and The CAID Group, Louisiana local governments can schedule a free brownfields assessment and access other state and federal resources for site remediation by contacting Cliff Palmer at LaMATS: (225) 316-7157.
