Haughton Responds to Natchez Needs
Haughton Mayor Kim Gaspard recently contacted LaMATS to sell three decommissioned city vehicles on our popular Surplus Property platform. During the conversation with Mayor Gaspard, we shared news that the Village of Natchez was in need of a police vehicle. Mayor Gaspard immediately responded to this need, and with support from Haughton Police Chief Todd Gibson, agreed to donate a surplus Chevrolet Tahoe to the Village.
Following up on this generous offer, Natchez Mayor Patsy Ward Hoover, and her Police Chief Michael Gillie, traveled to Haughton in mid-July to accept the much-needed patrol vehicle.
With this donation, Haughton has now provided three vehicles to neighboring local governments over the past four years. According to Mayor Gaspard, the city’s commitment to this service stems from the fact that larger municipalities have assisted them similarly in the past.
