LaMATS Congrats Walker Police Chief

Our constituents are important to us, which is why we keep an eye out for stories related to Louisiana's municipal police departments. But rarely are we so pleased and surprised by a headline as one from May 29 by WAFB News in Baton Rouge: "Walker Police Chief Saves Drowning Victim."

According to the report, Chief David Addison was on a walk when met by three youngsters pleading help for their father. Chief Addision acted immediately, retrieving the man, who was unresponsive and face-down in his backyard pool, and delivering life sustaining care until paramedics arrived. The man is currently recovering in a nearby hospital.
