LaMATS Drone Imaging Documents Natchitoches Airport Improvement

The city-owned Natchitoches Regional Airport (KIER) is scheduled to undergo significant improvements starting in August 2021, thanks to a multi-million dollar Federal Aviation Administration grant. Airport Director Larry Cooper and Natchitoches Purchasing Director Edd Lee asked LaMATS to help document this major city infrastructure project with before-and-after aerial images to illustrate the dramatic improvements expected. ULM partners joined LAMATS Executive Director and drone pilot Cliff Palmer on June 22 to take these and other images of the existing airport and will return later in the fall after the resurfacing, relighting, and remarking work is complete.
