Simmesport Hops On Rayne’s Drain Train

Debuted in 2017, Rayne’s effective and low-cost method of clearing storm drains has been a hit with numerous Louisiana municipalities that have received in-person training from its developer, Rayne Mayor Charles “Chuck” Robichaux and Rayne city employees.

On May 15, the Town of Simmesport in Avoyelles Parish received training and joined Ville Platte, Bogalusa, Eunice, Abbeville, Kaplan, and others in adopting the technology, which uses standard municipal equipment and materials to remarkable effect in clearing drains of sediment.

Simmesport Mayor, Rev. Dr. Leslie Draper III, offered this appreciation to his fellow public servant, Mayor Robichaux: “Our team was motivated by you and your team, and it shows up in their work. The time, wisdom, knowledge you’ve sowed into us is invaluable. . . I really appreciate how you work in the trenches with your employees and community. Keep the faith!”

LaMATS is pleased to promote Rayne’s home-grown technology statewide as part of its mission to provide technical service and advice to Louisiana municipalities. Executive Director Cliff Palmer invites all local leaders to learn more about this important technology and to schedule a demonstration by contacting LaMATS at (225) 344-5001.
