Training Supports Town of Ferriday's New Leadership
LaMATS Executive Director Cliff Palmer represented the LMA, RMI, and LAMATS on Tuesday, July 16, in a Louisiana Legislative Auditor-led training for the town leadership of Ferriday, including newly-elected Mayor Alvin Garrison and the Town's Board of Aldermen, two of whom are also new to their posts as of July 1. Palmer thanked State Senator Katrina R. Jackson-Andrews (District 34) and LLA General Counsel Jenifer Schaye, CFE, for organizing the day's training opportunity, which included an overview of the roles of Mayor and Alderman, and the various benefits and services of the LMA.
"The LMA and LLA are grateful for the kind invitation and pleased to offer these important refreshers on good governance in collaboration with our elected state leaders," said Palmer.
Additional LLA staffers involved with the training included Diane Allison, Judith Dettwiller, and Patrick Virgadamo.
